How to Fix Podcasts App Crashing in iOS 13 on iPhone and iPad

One of the Apple forum users said that since he updated to iOS 13, his Podcasts app started crashing every time a user tried to stream a podcast. Restart your iPhone. Force Quit the Podcasts

App Step 1. On iPhone X or later, swipe up from the bottom of your iPhone screen and hold; On iPhone 8 and earlier, double-tap the Home button. You will see all open applications.

Step #2. Swipe up on the Podcasts app tab to force close it.

Resolution #2. Remove and reinstall the Apple Podcasts app

Note: Any podcasts downloaded offline will also be deleted. You will need to reload them.

Step #1. From the iPhone home screen, press and hold the Podcasts app icon.

A pretty quick and easy way to fix this problem is to turn airplane mode on and off. Launch Control Center on your iPhone and tap the airplane icon. Wait 10 seconds and tap the same airplane icon again to turn off airplane mode.

Note: Alternatively, you can try pre-downloading an episode and playing it in airplane mode (or with Wi-Fi and mobile data turned off). See if the Podcasts app still crashes!

Resolution #4. Check if Apple servers are up

Go to Apple's System Status page and see if the iTunes cloud, iTunes Store, and other iTunes servers are up and running. If they are not available, waiting a while is the only thing you can do.

Solution #5. Restarting iPhone

Restarting your phone solves some problems and you should do it once a week.

Now to turn on your iPhone, press and hold the side power button. Then, relaunch the Podcasts app and resume your listening. This should have fixed the problem.
